Edith Ruíz Zepeda – Piano

She was born in Mexico City. She began his piano studies at the Doremi Academy with the teacher Debora Podbilevich and later with the teacher Érika Kubacsek. She graduated in piano at the National School of Music of UNAM with teachers Luis Mayagoitia and Jesús Ma. Figueroa and the Master’s Degree in Accompaniment and Chamber Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music with teacher Anne Epperson.

She has received distinctions such as the Gabino Barreda and Gustavo Baz Prada awarded by the UNAM, the Gwendolyn Koldovsky 2000 award given by the Darius Millhaud Society in the United States.

She has given recitals as soloist, accompanist and ensemble in the main halls of Mexico City, in the rest of the country, in the United States, Canada, Poland, Cuba, Colombia and Ireland. He has participated in international festivals such as the Music Academy of West in Santa Barbara, California, the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, the Cervantino International Festival in Guanajuato, the 2006 Clarinetfest in Atlanta, and 2007 in Vancouver, the New Music Forum 'Manuel Enríquez', the 01 Art Festival and Festival of the Historic Center of Mexico City, the International Cervantino Baroque Festival in Chiapas and the Eduardo Mata Festival in Oaxaca, among others.

She has participated as a pianist in the main orchestras, choirs and music schools of the country, competitions, meetings, theater, cinema, auditions, recordings and radio and television programs. She has performed as a soloist with the State Symphony Orchestra of Puebla, the Oaxaca State Band and the ENM Youth Orchestra. She was a pianist of the ENM choir, pianist of the Music School of the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center and teacher at the Doremi Academy for more than 15 years.

She is currently principal pianist in the National Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Minería, regularly invited as main pianist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, member of ONIX Ensamble, of the Cello Alterno Ensemble and of 'The Group of Musicians', teacher in The postgraduate course of the ENAM of the UNAM, regularly invited to give master courses in various schools and universities both in the country and in the American continent and presides at Arte Cúbico, a school of arts, which recently opened.

She has recorded 2 CDs of the Series “Music of the Latin American Chamber for Clarinet and Piano' with clarinetist Javier Vinasco. The first with Colombian music and the second with music by Piazzolla and Villalobos.
